Normalkonsum

"Can you also consume like a normal person?"

One day in a ski hut in Engelberg:

Christoph: "Please, a coffee and Rivella for me."
Lorena: "Can you also consume like a normal person?"
Staub: "That is his normalkonsum."

This raised the question: What do we actually understand by "normal consumption"?
What was, is, or will be considered as "normal"?
How much is actually normal?
And what quality should "normal" have?

Consumption is ubiquitous in our world today – but for me, consumption means much more than simply buying things. For me, to consume means: to decide consciouslyto reduce consistently and to allow only that into my life which truly brings me joy. Materially, this means possessing less and instead choosing products that are high qualitydurable and natural.

This very understanding also shapes the house at Schwertgasse 18. Thus, this house has become a direct reflection of my personal normal consumption: honest, simple, functional, and underpinned by a deep appreciation for what truly lasts.
